I am shopping for my first e36 M3 and i've noticed that there is not a lot of leg room and the steering column doesn't adjust. I'm 6'3" and have only sat in vaders. While the car is drivable, its a little uncomfortable. Can the seats be adjusted or steering column moved in any way?
I'm 6'4 and have no problems. Were the leg supports fully extended? As far as I know the rails can't be modified and the the column can't be moved.

The rail design is actually pretty good, as far as height is concerned. That doesn't really leave any room for modding. You could get new aftermarket seats with custom brackets, which will help immensely. Not the "street sport" seats... they sometimes make you sit even higher.
At 6'1", my head always touches the head liner in stock seats (I sit "properly," not laid back). You will get used to the steering column. I got an aftermarket wheel and added a big spacer to bring it closer. Feels much better that way.

6'7" here and I can make the leg room work, but I'm brewing a plan to replace the brake and clutch pedals with floor pivot units and a cross bar for heel support that should yield another good inch or two towards the firewall.
I've got the headliner out at the moment but I have to recline a bit to keep out of the headliner.
We should all post our stock Vader settings in detent positions for comparison.
