e36 1994 316i ... cam belt change?

hi,
i have recently acquired a 1994 bmw e36 316i. it has done 142k.
i was told these cars are chain driven and therefore a cam belt change is not required. is this true? thanks

you are chain driven, so no belt is inside, but dont let it fool you, the chain tensioners do go out, and suck to replace, but as far as what you asked, she chain driven my friend
