I may have to ship a 17" style 32 and mounted tire

Ernie from Ernie's Alloy's in Fla. said FedEx as most cost effective.

What say you?

And how to wrap/package/tape?

If shipping it to a business, rather than a house, it's usually less. Wrap it up in plastic wrap, put some foam over the wheel portion, ship.

Then you're only paying a little more. I had a set of tires shipped to a business because the shipper had a business account with FedEx or UPS, and they arrived on a pallet. My friend did'nt mind getting them because they did'nt do anything but store them for a few days. On a full set, it could be big $, but for one wheel/tire, probably don't bother.

Put cardboard on each side, Wrap in a garbage bag tight. Take to grey hound bus station. The buyer will have to pick up at a bus station. It will be cheap. If you want it cheaper and ship a lot get a student discount card.

I have a Fedex account and was told by Fedex that the main difference between shipping it to business and a residence is the delivery time. If it's addressed to a business it gets delivered early whereas if it's addressed to a residence it gets delivered late, ratewise it's the same.

Thanks for the info.

Any estimates of what it would cost to ship a single tire and wheel by FedEX to a residence?

It all depends on the dimension of the box, weight and the distance.

There are different ways to do it.

I shipped my 18" BBS Rk's with tires in separate boxes via UPS.
The boxes cost about $50, and the shipping was about $150.
It depends on the distance.
