Are there any alternatives to using stock units?

I'm going throught the motor and broke one of the o-ring retainings plastic pieces on stock injector. At close to $80 a piece from BMW they are kind of pricey.

Anything else fits?

They are called "Pintle Caps" and are easy to replace,
I have a few to spare at no cost, let me know if you
want them.

I don't think they are replaceable...

Yes they are.....each pintle cap goes for about $0.50 each
An injector service kit for my 7 was $32.00.

It included 16"O"rings, 8 filter and 8 pintle caps.

Check "Mr Injector" or "Injector Rehab" for more

740 injectors are different.

They are made by Siemens. 740s are Bosch or Lucas

Did yours look like this when apart?

The cap with vacuum hose feed broke off immediately as well...

My original question.

Any feedback on this?

All 12 of them?

The plastic on them is shot and if you touch them it shatters in pieces.

I'd like to at least replace the o-rings, but seeing how it went with one I'm not too optimistic about the prognosis for the rest.

Thanks.

I installed a set of Bosch Type III injectors with modified plumbing. Doing some testing now. Runs pretty good.

I have wondered about the purpose of the outer shell thing with the pipes connected to the secondary air system... is it just for cooling?

Oil and gas vapors recirculation.

Bosch Type III injectors installee instead of stock units.
I'm working on a kit to accept regular Bosch injectors.
So far no SES lights.
Stay tuned...

X has tested the mustang injectors and says they are a direct replacement. Cheap on Ebay. Search and find his writeup on the subject.:)

Not on M73N.

I didn't mention that in the beginning, sorry.

I have the "Ford Mustang" injectors, they work great!! Has better throttle response and can really feel the difference when I get it about 4K rpm. Also, I am getting 1.2 miles per gallon better. : )
