Getting the windows tinted before picking up a new set of rims (must get rid of those 16s) just was wondering what you guys think would look best on the car.

Go as dark as your state will allow. Choose a quality film from a quality manufacturer (Suntek, 3M, Llumar). Ask to see the swatch books from the installer you choose, as tints come in many shades (charcoals and carbons) with different hues ( green, brown, etc) And get a reputable installer to do the work. Cheaper is not better when it comes to tint. You can see a significant difference.
I personally chose Suntek Carbon for the color and quality.

My advice is to check your local laws 1st. It sucks to be pulled over for some reason and then on top of that, get ticketed for illegal tints. Yeah many people get away with it, but just consider whether the risk and hassle are worth it for you. Something to think about before deciding.

Don't forget to factor in the tint already in the OEM glass. It's subtle, but there and may make a difference if you get pulled over.

I have an 07 328i coupe and i did 50/35/20 and it gives you that nice fade effect but it looks awesome just watch out for the dot matrix on the rear window. Mine looks hazy so im having them get a peice of vinyl to fix it.

You are absolutely right about that, the law does state none on the front, which is why i may just tint it a bit, i just think to have the rear tinted and front looks bad imo.

after hearing the same opinions about the problems i may get with 25 and 30 i may do a setup like yours.

Here in california it's the worst. You can't have more than 70% which almost looks like nothing. I plan on going 35 and just hoping for the best. Some people mentioned that if you go light in the front and really dark in the back it can have a blending effect and making the front look darker.

Here in jersey you're not even allowed to have them tinted darker then dealsership which is like 90 or 95% i think unless you have a doctors note with a stated eye problem or other reason.

I'd go 35% all around. As far as tint, you wanna go with something that's a ceramic tint. This place in MD did my car for 250 + tax for all ceramic all around.
