Anybody else have this happen: while on a call, the radio started freaking out and turning on an off all by itself and the call I was on also cycled on off - basically an insane cycle of the radio and phone blipping on an off every second or so. I decided to do a test call with the SOS button and the same thing happened - the BMW assist guy ended up calling me back on my cell (which I had disconnected from bluetooth) and he told me something had been corrupted in my car and that I should take it to the dealer.

Everything is now back to normal (after letting car sit for 30 min) - phone and BMW Assist are working properly.

No Navigation/iDrive - just the "professional" radio and bluetooth. I've had the car for less than a week so the gremlin is really bugging me. Thanks for any thoughts/advice.

Probably a software bug. If it doesn't happen often, I would not worry about it. It is usually a combination of events between the phone and the car BT and possibly something else that causes the software to go into an erronous loop. Usually shutting the car off for 15-20 minutes does the trick of clearing it. Also rebooting the phone may help.

Could be Bluetooth (BT) interference as well. Not a very stable standard, imho. What brand/model is the phone? iPhone's in particular are notorious for not being BT compliant 100% with the spec....

It's an iPhone4... Sounds like it was in fact just a gremlin and nothing to worry too much about. Thanks for the help.
