My "Ultimate Cup Holder" came in the mail today. I love the simple design yet quality construction & material plus the size is adjustable. I should have bought it long time ago. I love it.:redspot
Before this, I even modified a Walmart cup holder and screwed it on a 3/4" board and inserted behind the passenger seat. But not only did that look ugly it also took out some room for the rear passenger.

Very nice, I'll be picking these up when I take delivery of my new car.
Now you just need a vacuum ;)

Should have vacuumed or crop my photo more hehe:stickoutt.
I've been wanting to use this glass bottle for a long time cause I don't like the plastic smell esp in hot weather.

I dont want to know how much you paid for that or where you guys are "ordering" these from...
But you can easily find these products for about $5, and with a little free ingenuity you can get the same exact product for a lot less.

Shawn C,
Where in the world can I buy one of these "Ultimate Cup Holder" units from... ?

Ditto the UCH (ultimate cup holder) love.
Mine came with the car (previous owner purchased them)...and I left one in the Touring, and put the other in the e38.
They definitely perform their job well...can hold multiple shaped items from small to large...and I've never had a spill.

I just run an IV on long trips. Less spillage and no need for a cup holder.

I love their competitors page:
The duct tape method
Especially handy if you have a V8 E39 BMW since you also can use the tape to try to patch your radiator when it detonates. ; )

Um what's the big deal about these? You guys all seem to be stoked (I'm sure for good reason)but from that one pic, it doesn't look so hot to me. A little tacky imo.
So what am i missing?

I have one as well and love it. I've since deleted my OEM slot. The aluminum goes with my grey interior.

If you mean the links I can't access them. Why search when I'm in a thread discussing it?
I guess I just have a thing for OEM interiors :dunno

Its just one of those, except modified very slightly. You just bend the bracket "up" instead of facing it down. Saves a lot of money. You can save even more if you just get one of these:

They come in metal or plastic in all sizes and shapes. Thats EXACTLY what the "Ultimate Cup Holder" is except the mounting bracket is already turned up.

Those don't look nearly as nice. This is an interior piece, so aesthetics and material is also important to me.

It might be functional, but sorry it looks cheap. You can't have a cup of coffee in them, so there is no use. I can keep a bottle of water anywhere in the car. They are not cupholders, rather bottle holders. And if you need a Slurpy, stay at 7-11 and drink it there.

It's simple design was what steered me away from buying it before which I regret it now for not buying it earlier. Actually it doesn't look tacky at all because you cannot see it unless you open the door and see it through the door and that's good because most drink holders do not blend with BMW interior...

Seriously? Those are plastic and not even in the same time zone as the UCH.

The UCH is a great thing. Pricy, but a really well-made product. $25 and there is a CCA discount. And it is getting close to Christmas...
I've used the cheapo solution and it works OK, but looks terrible...

Seriously? Those are plastic and not even in the same time zone as the UCH.
It was simply an example. You can buy a nice looking metal one, or a carbon fiber one if you really care - I dont care, knock yourself out - for less than a third of the price of the UCH. All I am saying is that the "UCH" is such a simple idea, I dont know how people justify spending $30 bucks on something that can be purchased for way less.
And sorry but at the end of the day, this:
http://www.bimmerboard.com/members/q/original/Ultimate%20CupHolder%20empty.jpg
Hardly looks better than the stuff I posted. AND not to mention the ones I posted have bottoms so your drink isnt sitting on your carpet
I mean yeah, its "only" 30 bucks. But its also 30 bucks you are spending on a piece of bent metal...

its not bad for the price but when you got tan interior the walmart cupholder looks like crap but its definitely cheap.

I had that cheap plastic holder from Walmart. It was too weak and flexible that my big water bottle felt through the opening. You also had to drill a hole in the bimmer, oh no way.

Yeah, I bought the four pack of cheap ones at Walmart. Within a month three of the four had either snapped at the top mounting tab or had bent sideways. I tried again with similar results. One time while driving, the thing just slid out. Thankfully the bottle was sealed at the time, but rolled around the floor. Thank God it didn't go up behind the brake pedal.
It's really to each their own. I bought the UCH and I love having them. They aren't for everyone. It all depends. Some people can justify it in their heads, some can't. Whatevs
