E46 shift boot - on E36?

Found a nice alcantara shift-boot with the M tri-stitched colors on it. It's off an E46 m3. Will it fit an E36?

i just purchased one from redline in alcantara with M stitching. The shift boot was well fitted. I also purchased arm rest cover and e-brake boot. The arm rest cover (too small) ebrake boot TOO LARGE!!

ebrake boot was large in diameter arm cover, even with stretching, still too small.

Could have just been mine but heck its better than my old crusty leather.
