Nice! More pics of the front of the E38 you re-did?

Why no stripes on the e38?
Great job! I think more pics are in order too especially of the e38 front end and where you did the Bondo on the side.

I hate paint, it's made of paint and paints everything it touches.
Honestly, I just wish I could do it properly

did you add any flex to the paint for the rubber trim?

no sir. i didnt paint any trim.
perhaps you and I consider trim to be two different things. :)
I was referring to the rubber bumper surrounds (the cosmetic piece between the bumper and the body of the car) including the rubber molding on the ends of the aluminum bumpers for the front and back as well as the rubber spoiler on the trunk.

I believe the bumper surrounds are fiberglass.

hmmm...they were rubber on my e28 and I thought they were rubber on my e30. I could be mistaken of course.

The paint he used is very forgiving when it comes to flex. (Rustolium) While it is not the same as having traditional paint with flex it in, it sticks like crazy and resists cracking. And for what he would pay for a can of flex additive, he can repaint the car ;)
I tried this paint on a previous work truck I had, and it worked great.

besides, all that trim is a hard plastic. not rubber.

I may be mistaken but I did think that it was rubber, I must have confused it with my old e28 which was rubber. the spoiler is rubber though, old hard rubber.

Yea, I think that there are some rubber bits that he painted white, but the Rustolium will flex a fair bit. :)
