I came across this pair of cables so I can eventually run INPA on my laptop. My E38 is ODB-I so I need the round connector to make use of INPA.

I came across this:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/NEW-Ediabas-INPA-4-BMW-100-compatible-OBDII-Interface-/160492093959?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item255e130207

Now, the cable on the left looks like ODB-I with the ODB-II connector on the right. Does this look it'll work with my E38?

Thanks! :D

Diag forum my man. That is the cable I have. You wont get ignition input from that set without modification. It can be modified, I did it to both of my sets.

So it won't work with ODB-I? What does modification entail?

Moreover, is there something out there that will work for ODB-I without modification?
