I just changed the camshaft position sensor on my 00 750IL and I start the car up with the CHECK ENGINE flashing, I run the codes and I have a cylinder 1-6 misfire, i obviously unhooked something but WHAT?? I cant find anything wrong I did, theres NOT much to unhook to get to the CPS, any input would help, TIA

be sure you did not pull off any vacuum hoses when you snaked out the sensor wire....

im still checking everywhere, does the INTAKE MANIFOLD come up a little without actually taking the intake manifold off? It looks like theres a bunch of little screws holding it on top, so im worinder if I can bring it up a little

No it doesn't. Take a look at the pdf in this post from e38.org and you can see how the intake manifolds are attached. It's not safe to lift them, you could damage the rubber boots (Richard will insist they are intake manifold gaskets:stickoutt)

This is interesting, my problems started about the time I replaced my CPS... :confused

What CPS did you use?

Thats strange CPS is on bank 2 so why bank one would through a code like is, it could be bank 2 (as thats were you were working.)

But there is only one CPS for both banks, correct? It's one of the few sensors that is not redundant between the separate banks on the V12, along with the crank position sensor, and I think there is only one intake air temp sensor.

This is what is driving me crazy with my misfire problem. I have misfires on both banks, always the same cylinders 1, 6, 7, and 12.

JaguarS4R, Is it always all cylinders 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6?

Yes one sensor on the left bank (7-12)

Well now the car runs good and no more check engine

Well, what was the fix?

I accidentally disconnected a vacuum line

That was an easy fix :D
