block of wood on the center and take a serious sledge hammer to it...just make sure to hit the wood.

Before I tried that, I would shoot it with some WD40 around the edge. If that doesn't work, I would try the wood trick or as a last resort: heating the rim (not the center) with low heat.

Are they OEM style 42's or reps? Do they have a BMW part number stamped on them? If not, they're reps and most reps are one-piece made to look like two-piece.

Oh man. Trying to separate the center from the wheel on a one-piece wheel's going to be a bitch. :shifty

My bbs's didn't want to come apart cuz they were cleared after the two haves were put together (by bbs). I used a press to make sure i was pushing the center down strait.

When taking apart my style 5, I layed a blanket down and folded it a few times and litterly jumped on the center with both feet and all my weight. They are most likely clear coated and thats what was keepin them together. Also maybe try some pb blaster

style 42 centers come out through the front, not the rear like 5s and 19s. Spray wd40 let sit for 5-10 min and grab a 5lb rubber mallet. Hit in a star patern and after a few pounds, they should break free. Careful with the bolts though. Those titaniums are a biatch and if they break, youre screwed....

You'd have to be a complete idiot to try and push a style 42 center through the back. I'm betting that the OP has a set of reps and the bolts are just for decoration.

this is why I said through the front..... but now that I re-read it, I get what he meant.
Usually reps dont have bolts that can be removed....

I've had two sets of style 42 reps, both had removable bolts.

yup they are real, have bbs stamped and have the correct part number, just whacked on them with huge rubber mallet and jumped on them... noooooo go
