Does having the Sport Package increase horsepower?

On my 2001 325ci, I have the sport and premium packages, so does that increase horsepower? I did some research and couldn't find much. All I could find was that this car has about 185 stock. My dad, who owned the car before me, told me that it has 215 horsepower because of the sport package. I know it doesn't really matter, but i'm just curious. Anyone have an answer?

No. The 330 has 215 hp.

Ok, so the 325 only has 185? My dad says the car has an upgraded suspension and other parts added to it, but it came like that from the factory. Idk what to believe.

Yes, it has lower springs, bigger wheels and nicer seats... none of which add HP. You can go look on www.edmunds.com if you don't believe me, you'll see that there is no separate option for sport package.

What your dad is thinking about is the 330 ZHP which did have 10 more hp over the regular 330 but that was NOT sports package. You could still get a regular 215hp 330 with sports package OR pony up the extra cash for the ZHP with 225hp, but BMW did NOT do that for any other E46.

Zhp was also known as the performance package. The sports packages never added power.
