Brake Light prob (help!)

I have a 96 740il and the brake lights will not work. The 3rd brake light does come on so i dont think its the brake light switch. I have checked all the bulbs and they work. Does anybody know what the problem could be? I really dont want to pay for this to be diagnosed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was having failures because of the rusted conectors of the piece that has inside the bulb sockets.

Sand paper solved it.

thanks that was the problem, had a bad connection with the sockets. cleaned them and all is good.
