I know they'll fit in terms of clearance, but is this too much sidewall stretch?

I have 225/50's on 17x8 et13 on front of my touring. No strectch at all.
They do rub the front of the inner fender liner on full turn. No biggie.
I have 275/40's on back with a 9" wheel.

Did you ever try 225/50R17 tires on 17x8 rims? I hate the look of a "stretched" sidewall on a too wide of a rim or a sidewall that is sloped inwards.

stock is 235. its not going to look stretched. just going to look funny with a bunch of sidewall. the pic above shows a car with 225/50/17

That's pretty meaty. It won't be stretched at all. I have 225/35/18 on 8.5 and I still don't think it's really stretched.

The worlds best tire calculator... plug it in and see the majic!

a 225/50-17 is only slightly larger than the 235/45-17. With a stock ride height car you will be fine.

Does'nt look too funny. IMO, the perfect size for the front for us that are not very low.
Helps to create the illusion of low with great ride quality.

Meaty tires are the next big thing. Get'em now and be ahead of the trend followers.

That looks pretty good, I like it. Never thought 'low' and 'great ride quality' could ever all go in the same sentence.

Yeah, I never really got into the hellaflush thing. I know it's going to wear off soon. Plus, meaty tires are great for those who don't parallel park too often :stickoutt

Thing is, this doesn't help in terms of sidewall stretch, which was the OP's question. If this program could do that, then it would be true magic :)

When I had them on the back with 245/40 in the front, it looked goofy. Now that they're all 225/50, they look fine, ride fine, no speedometer error that I can detect. The best size that I've had is still 245/45, though (MEAT).
