Well, he says that about 6 or 7 cars were involved but most fled the scene. He was the last car in the pile up and basically him and the lady ahead of him stayed on the scene. He called the cops and then called me with the news. I don't have collision on it but I don't even know if he is at fault (the cop didn't told him anything). Got towed to a shop in Clifton and he is now calling Geico to have the car towed home.
So, anyone with wide grill parts in North NJ? Looks like I'm going to need a hood, grill support, grill, driver side high beam, a frront bumper cover and I'm guessing an auxiliary fan and maybe a radiator support. He sent me a cell phone pic of the car:

Doh, that sucks, on one hand it's good that he is not hurt, but the look of the alpine makes me cry :(

Yeah, you are right about that! I guess it's just his ego that's bruised right now! It doesn't help that I'm 1,600 miles away in Puerto Rico!

Ouch! That sucks, but most importantly, your son is okay.

That sucks.

I'm not too far away, and have a front bumper. I might be able to get a hood, grills and lights. Might even deliver for the right price. Send me a pm with you number I your interested.

Ouch! Glad to hear your son is ok.

Unfortunately the driver in the rear is usually at least partly at fault. But since you don't have collision on the car (nor do I) I'm not sure how that will play out. I'm curious to hear what insurance says about the folks who fled. Bet they weren't insured, licensed, or both.

Hope he can get it back on the road again soon. A full parts car might work out well in this case.

I've been in this situation before and usually the last guy pays for the guy in front of him and the guy in front of him pays the guy in front of him and so on. So you're probably almost 100% responsible for the damage to the other car. The theory is that your son should have stayed a safe distance away from the car in the front to stop at a safe distance. That's the theory but far from reality.

So good luck and check for radiator leaks so it doesn't overheat

After he made it home he told me thte tyow truck driver was telling him that apparently there was on oil spill on that road today and there had been several accidents today. he told my son to check with the police to see if there had been reports of accidents in the same area today and thet he could use that to his advantage because of the loss of traction. I'll snoop around to see what i can find.
Thanks for the kind words everyone! This is my first time having my son involved in a car accident and not being there was a little bit nerve wrecking.

My dad actually just went through the same thing you went through...My wheel fell off (long story, search my threads if you want to find it) and he was about 2 hours away and felt quite helpless. Thankfully i am a pretty independent 17 year old.

That sucks dude, sorry - especially the no collision part.

Good thing he was not hurt though.

I have all of the parts you would need. Most of them in Alpineweiss except for the rad support and widegrill. I am in Northern VA, 20191 if you feel like making the trip down.
