My 540 really is a frankenstein

So the build sheet has it with the Msport suspension/bodywork, but it doesn't have the bodywork. Haven't measured the sways etc to check the suspension package yet.

The interior is midswap for M5 trim and has and E36 M3 wheel and an E39 M5 shifter.

And apparently the engine was swapped for an M62(Not sure if TU or not atm, I'll have to look when I get home)


So yay for more torque and no Nikasil questioning. Although I am kind of sad that I don't know what kind of mileage is on the engine. I'm hoping the flywheel/clutch still fit otherwise I am going to be quite angry.

huh? I decoded the VIN and it had the M-Sport stuff listed on there but obviously it doesn't have the exterior pieces or mirrors, and then the guy was swapping the wood trim to the M trim (whatever color that's called) but he was halfway done and has half flat black and half M colored wood trim.

Oh well, even with the clutch/flywheel (as long as they fit) I'm sure I could turn it over for a profit and possibly with the supercharger if I find the right person.

All 540/6's came with "m" suspension. Don't recall whether it was m-tech or what.

M62 is a nice find, though. That works out well.

I find it very hard to believe that someone would remove all the M-Sport bodywork, the doorsills, every trace of EDC and SLS suspension.

Its probably just the m-tech sport suspension that came on all 540i/6's as mentioned.

they didnt come with exterior stuff. Just sways and springs. Theres no M trim, just the rare carbon fiber stuff. He probably painted the wood.

They didnt.
All decoded Vins for 540/6's list m-sport parts, even m-sport cars (shocker).

Your car is a regular 540i6. Im willing to bet its not an M62 either.
