I have a '91 325is with a driver's side non-working window. I checked the window controls by removing both from the center console and switching them and both the switches are good. Now, the window originally wasn't working at all. Not even when it's supposed to raise/lower when you open/shut the door. (What is this featured called anyway?). So I opened the door panel and unhooked the cables and unscrewed the hex nuts from the motor itself. I removed the huge magnet casing and tried to remove the motor from the gear but couldn't get it out for some reason. After about an hour of fooling around with it, I put it all back together and wouldn't you know, Now when I open/shut the door the window lowers. The switch still doesn't work though. I got worried cause I couldn't get the window back up by hand so now the only time I can get the window up is to continuously open/shut the door while continuously clicking the up position on the window switch. The same switch that doesn't work otherwise. Can anyone tell me if there is anything I can do to get this thing working cause it seems like a real hassle to get a new one in there seeing as they don't sell them at the parts store with just the motor. And can you tell me how are you supposed to get those 4 weird bolts holding the middle of the regulator in place cause they are not screw on bolts or flathead/phillips type. Any help would be greatly appreciated Folks.
