I was having a custom one built by DTM Autobody/Azuka Designs, but decided to just buy an e46 M3 instead. I'm kind of wondering if I made the right decision.

Man, I'm not sure how that would look. Pretty good I'd say if it wasn't overdone. Those back doors would get pretty dang thick either way though! :D
I've thought about this as well, but I think it'd just be easier to work the fender lip than to widen the whole body. Would look pretty good that way too if done right of course.

There was silver one in the Bay Area a while ago. Member here... I can't remember his name or if he still has it. It looked nice.

of PTG's E36 M3 race cars, there were only 3 4dr made. the 4dr is a better base for a race car according to them (better aero and marginally stiffer chassis)
