Check Engine Soon shows up in my 2006 325i

HI Friends-
Need help ... I had the microfilter replaced in Firestone , a couple of days ago but the technician could not reset the light immediately. I was tlld to come back after a couple of days. This morning I noticed my Car "Rocking " and misfiring as I started the engine and as soon as I drove ..Check engine soon light showed up . I aslo noticed the RPM is messed up. I am not able to drive as usual. Do you think , this problem will be rectified if I have the micro filter light taken care off. Please Help !!!!!:(

I have a 2006 325i with 49K miles done on the car.

Microfilter is the name for the filter for outside air for the a/c system.

It has nothing to do with the engine, so that's not the problem. You need to go to a dealer (or independent with a GT1) and get the codes read to find out what's wrong. Useless to try to diagnose without the codes.

Thanks Floydr. I took an appointment with the dealer for this afternoon. Hope fully i will know something by the end of the day !!!
