where can i find mud guards for the front and rear?
or, does anyone know the part numbers?
I have a 97 e36 m3 with the stock twisty side skirts and i need these because my aggressive tire/wheel setup is throwing dirt all over my rear bumper.

i ve never seen anything on realoem for them but it can be hard to nagivate sometimes
try hitting the rallying scene... They're rare but they do exist those that rally E36s and they'll know for sure where to get such an accessory

They are very rare, I got lucky to score a OEM set 2 yrs ago. IIRC they are only available for the rear wheels. Try looking for some in the EU.

They are available front and rear. I don't recall the part numbers though.

make your own.
Done it a lot on my buddies subbies, or look into rally armor

I have them on mine, they came with the car when it was new. Front and rear OE. I can look up the part number if you'd like.

P/Ns are in the link posted. Do you have some profile and rear end shots of your car? I'd like to see how they look as I'm considering them. My rear tires spit stuff all over my bumper constantly, getting tired of it.

The BMW ones are sculpted to match the twists (F) and rear bumper (R) countours...not look like a 4X4 addon....
I'd love a set myself....they show up now and then and are pricey and get grabbed quick...

I see. But if the OP wants function over form, you can DIY:

I would want function and form. For some reason I like those OE mud flaps.

They are under Universal Accessories (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.do?model=BG93&mospid=47488&hg=82) => Exterior accessories in general (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.do?model=BG93&mospid=47488&hg=82&fg=44)
However, they say not suitable for use with aerodynamic package.... I wonder if that means the M skirts. How strange that they would stop making the fronts.

there are two types of front flaps, one for those without skirts, one for those with. If you go further down on realoem you will see the 2nd type listed.

The oem ones don't look half bad. I always thought these cars looked butt ugly with mud flaps.

Thanks for all the replies. FYI, i did check realoem, but i had a hard time navigating that site.
also, for the link that someone posted, i wasn't sure if my car applied since the car in the article was not an M3.
regarding the pic of the rally car with the diy mud flaps, c'mon man, that's just plain ghetto. that's like using a rear wing made of plywood to add rear downforce. Maybe it'd work on another car, but i can just picture arrogant germans laughing at my stupid american ass.

now that was an arrogant and ignorant comparison
although it may be "ghetto", those DIY mud flaps are FUNCTIONAL whereas a plywood ricer wing is just a paperweight. I guess if you really care what Germans think of style as opposed to actual function
but I digress

^^Yea I only posted that I think most people will agree that mud flaps in general are somewhat not good looking - especially on an E36.
hence, if you're going to do them, make them very functional.
I lived where we got 300+ inches of snow a year...we needed function. Putty 245's on my buddies subbies = snow mist covering all side windows w/o big flaps.
...I'll go put my plywood wing back on :D
OP - hope you find whatever it is you're looking for (you could just keep your car clean if it's just a dirty bumper that bugs you?) Something about mudflaps in Hawaii makes me chuckle.

I don't like the way flaps look either, but I know whatcha mean with the spray on the rear bumper. I am going to install 3M type armorfend on there. It will still show dirt, but at least no damage from sap, bugs, tar and stuff. Just a suggestion!

Think of driving in poorly paved areas which get well over 300 inches of rain each year...

Last time I checked the fronts are NLA but the rears can be bought at the dealer. I will get rears at least for this winter, but I don't think I'll really need fronts and they will sell for a lot secondhand being NLA.
