I am posting to seek help from the experts.

I have an 87 325iS that I am restoring. It will have Bilstein Sport Shocks, and H&R Sport Springs when I'm done.

I have searched, but my questions are kind of muti teared.

I recently traded for a set of BBS RS, to be exact...

16x8 ET42 RS322 1' Lips - with 205/45/16
16x9 ET40 RS323 1.5" Lips - with 215/40/16

They are 5x100 so I will be running 4x100 adapters which the lowest MM I've found is 20mm adapters.

So the questions are

A. Will the ET20 / ET22 (ETs with 20mm adapters) be optimal front and rear?
B. Can I put the rear 1.5" lips on the front? What ET will that make them?
C. Can I put 3" lips on the rear? What ET will that make them?
D. If no what size lips can I go to and what ET will it make them?

Thanks for taking the time to read!

A. Will the ET20 / ET22 (ETs with 20mm adapters) be optimal front and rear?
Yes, it'd be perfect
B. Can I put the rear 1.5" lips on the front? What ET will that make them?
ET12 with adapters
C. Can I put 3" lips on the rear? What ET will that make them?
Close to 0 offset
D. If no what size lips can I go to and what ET will it make them?

RS322&323 are 5x114.3

I knew they were 5x114.3 :devillook I got them from a buddy who got them professionally re-drilled :shifty to 5x100 to fit his MKIV Golf.

However as always, Luke you Sir are the Man!

I appreciate your input on wheels threads, and thusly you come though once again, this time for me!

To summarize, I can use the fronts on the rear, and purchase 2.5" lips for the rear and have near perfect fitment on the E30?

What would the final offsets be front and rear?
&
What would the final widths be?

Would the tires that are on there now still be useable, or no due to them being that much wider?

Thanks!

16x8.5 and 16x10

ET will be around 12 on both front and back

Just thinking out loud...

With adapters and new lips the overall ETs would go to...
Front - ET14 1.5 Lip
Rear - ET10 2.5 Lip

and the over all width would then be...
Front - 16x8 becomes 16x8.5
Rear - 16x9 becomes 16x10.5

If those are correct #s, then what about current tire sizes... Will these work on the new sized wheels?

205/45/16 on a 16x8.5
215/40/16 on a 16x10.5

Then final question will this setup...

Front - 16x8.5 ET14
Rear - 16x10.5 ET10

Fit an E30 on Bilsteins and H&R sports?

Sorry for the long questions, can any one confirm?

rears will be 10, you swap 1.5" lips for 2.5" lips on the 9

so you gain 1"

you'll need to roll fenders, definately
