Hi everyone, oficially post numero uno for me. I just bought a very sexy sapphire black 328i/E90 (with "M" sports/premium) and I am at about 90% enjoyment right now. Why not 100%? The inside of my car sounds like someone is playing the flute in there when I reach about 80mph. I can't tell exactly where it is coming from, but appears to be around the center of the dash ( behind the nav screen??) I have searched and found alot of info regarding everything from missing jack pads, to window/door alignment issues? Has anyone experienced this, and found a real fix?:help My dealer has offered to have the shop foreman take a ride with me, as I explained that it is very repeatable.
Well that is my first post, and it sounds like I am whining, but just trying to get to my personal 100% enjoyment factor..

nothing wrong with wanting it perfect. i'd say it's probably something to do with the windshield not being perfectly installed. good luck and take them up on the ride-along offer.

So, just fiddling around today.. had all windows closed, accellerated to 80+, noise starts. So, I crack the sunroof, and bingo, bango, bongo, no flute noise. So must be something in the shape or pressure on the seal maybe??? but then i found this.****link removed****

it seems like about half the sunroofs out there now have some sort of noise, some noise is normal as any foreman/tech will tell you but there are times when it gets excessive.

there isnt a whole lot to do about it but usually when i get a car with that type of issue ill replace the seal around the glass and readjust the glass upon reinstallation. sometimes its adjusted too low in the front which seems to cause noise at some speeds, and sometimes the rear part is adjusted too low causing noise at others. its weird.

it comes down to the fact that there is always going to be some wind noise with the shade open, how much may be correctable though. def go for a ride with a tech or foreman as that always makes find noises easier for us.

Thx Speedsta. the noise is literally like someone playing a single note on a flute. And really loudly. But your right, the demo ride with the tech should point out that it is not a "normal" situation.
Does anyone recall, what the "calibration" method was for the sunroof??? wasnt it like hold down the open position for two minutes or two days or something like that?

press and hold the sunroof button upwards in the vent position, continue to hold it for 10-15 seconds and the initialization procedure will start. hold it all the way through the procedure, sunroof will completely open the close and when it stops moving its done.
