Hello all,

I had a strange experience in my 328xi today....I was playing with my iphone in the car (while being parked) and accidentally hit the memo feature from which I sometimes record stuff. I noticed that when I activated the memo playback it started playing back through the bluetooth of the car so the recording was heard through the car speakers. But when I tried to play music it would not play through bluetooth. I just loaded the latest apple operating system in my 3GS and was wondering if this is the cause?

It would be pretty cool to access ipod (Iphone music) via bluetooth as opposed to the y-connector. Any thoughts?

You need the Bluetooth A2DP profile to be supported for the music to play, and so far it is not supported on the 3 series, at least not without iDrive. Not sure about models with iDrive.

Yea, things like voice memos and voice control will work through the bluetooth since they're not high bitrate. A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) allows for CD-quality audio to be transfered over bluetooth. This profile is required to play music over the bluetooth system. I'm hoping BMW supports it some day, but it probably won't happen until the F20.
