anyone else have a problem with your window auto seal function?

hi,

my driver's side window tend to say in the down position with the door closed.

it doesn't do the extra seal function unless i push on the door

sometimes it goes crazy and goes up and down sporadically

anyone else have this problem?

i think it has to do with teh door not closing all the way on the button that makes the window go up ,but i'm not sure how to fix this

any ideas?

try lubing the door catch with oil. did this on my old e36 318is, and it fixed the door seal problem.

The dome light switch, which also controls the lowering/raising of the window on opening/closing the door, is located in the door latch assemply that's on the door jamb (not the door). With the door open, if you stick your pinky in the hole, you can feel the switch operate and cause the window to go up.

The switch could be bad. The door latch may need adjusting. Or, I've read of someone putting electrical tape around the round post to force the latch assembly to be tighter.
