View Full Version : Stalling When starting up. Ang grinds into third also

98 M3 Problems still. It sounds like I am forcing it into third. it grinds a bit before I can put it in gear. Pressure Plate Possible. I think the clutch is not going in far enough, I never had this problem before. Putting it in First is like a clunk when I do it.

Could be a multitude of things. Could be the clutch slave cylinder being faulty, Could be a throw-out-bearing issue, could be old and nasty fluid in your trans, could even be a faulty syncro in the trans. Sadly my advice my be to take it to a local reputable shop to have it diagnosed and proceed from there.
