Found what I was looking for. Thanks everyone.
A year after replacing the coil spring tensioner in my car (and fixing the noise), it's doing the same thing again. Time to junk the old system.
If anyone is parting an M52 (or M54, if the base plates are the same) with a hydraulic water pump/alternator tensioner, I'd like to buy some of the parts that don't wear. This means any of the specialty hardware, pretty much everything but the hydraulic strut, pulleys, and bearings. I'll buy those new.
#2 and 4 are of real interest to me.
