Every option. Full computer, side impact airbags, dual power seats, heated seats, Harmon kardon, cd changer, etc. Includes factory m3 mats I'm
great shape.

The paint is deep, glossy, and is nearly perfect. No door dings, 9 out of 10. Would e a 10, but light rust bubble started near the license plate (common)
interior shows exttremely well, the black was special order and stays perfect, unlike gray. Mechancally the car is perfect. Fully inspected, no check engine srs or any other lights are on. Tires 80%, newer
brakes, all suspension, power steering, etc perfect.

170k highway miles. Drives better than my Dakar 98 with 75k. Willing to get the car inspected at buyers expese at dealer or Indy shop.

$8500

produced after the normal wheels ran out... So BMW redesigned the wheel in very late 99

:bs

The "normal wheels" never ran out. You can still buy them to this day from any dealership in the world. Your wheels are Style 68s from an e46 330i sport. I don't even think these were available in 1999. What a ridiculous proclamation to make...

Can you please elaborate on what you mean by BMW redesigned the wheel in late 99?

I assume you're referring to the M68's, but they were never an E36 option from the factory. Even the last 8/99 Convertible E36 M3 is listed with Double Spoke and Contour options only.

If the car sat around on the Dealer lot when the 330i's rolled around, then I could see the wheels being a dealer installed option.

Just curious, please explain.

That is the story I was told by the BMW dealer. I will pull the factory installed options to confirm. I am aware they later used them on the later e46, but supposidly these were designed for the late late e36 first

where did you pull the available wheels for 8/99?? And where did you find an 8/99? The secondost recent here is 4/99

Stay tuned, not trying to decieve anyone, the proof will be on the option list one way or the other

Then the dealer totally lied to you. Those wheels were not offered as stock for any other vehicle. A quite possible example would be this: They ruined a customer's wheels during service, then swapped a random set onto your car and (successfully) BS'd their way out of paying for new ones. This crap happens ALOT.

"What changes were made to the North American-spec E36 M3 3.2 during its producton?
Though there were no further mechanical changes to the North American-spec E36 M3 after the 1996 model year, a number of equipment revisions occurred before production ended in August 1999. These included:
-Restyled grille and side marker turn signals (9/96 production)
-Byzanz metallic available (9/96-8/97 production, U.S-market M3 sedan only)
-Side impact airbags available as an option for M3 sedan (3/97 production)
-Power front seats available as individual option (3/97 production, already offered in Canada)
-Luxury Package (http://www.bmwmregistry.com/faq/E36_M3_Luxury_Interior.jpg) option discontinued (9/97 production)
-Side impact airbags standard on all body styles (9/97 production)
-Illumination added to M shift knob (9/97 production)
-Rear headrests added (9/97 production)
-Front armrest added as standard equipment (9/97 production, already standard in Canada)
-M Contour II alloy wheels available as a no-cost option (9/97 production)
-M-Cross cloth/Amaretta upholstery discontinued for U.S. market (9/97 production, still offered in Canada)
-Magma and Mulberry Nappa leather upholsteries (previously offered only in combination with Luxury Package) reintroduced to U.S. market (11/97 production)
-Three-spoke M steering wheel (http://www.bmwmregistry.com/faq/E36_M3_Dash_Late.jpg) replaces four-spoke version on M3 coupes (3/98 production, already standard in Canada)
-Imola Red (405) paint available (3/98 production)
-Titanium Silver metallic (354) offered in place of Arctic Silver metallic (309) (3/98 production)
-Fern Green metallic (386) offered in place of Boston Green metallic (275) (3/98 production, not available on M3 sedan)
-Radio updated from Alpine C33 to Alpine C43 (9/98 production)
-Sand Beige leather upholstery introduced (9/98 production)"

With a list this comprehensive and documentation of a real supply issue (with regard to the upholstery in 1998 sedans) it is unlikely that they forgot about a "wheel shortage" in late 1999.

http://www.bmwmregistry.com/faq/E36_M3_Wheels.jpg
"On North American models, the M Double Spoke II became the standard wheel for all body styles, with the forged M Double Spoke and M Contour II as options. The latter was fitted to all M3s equipped with the optional Luxury Package and became an individual option as of 9/97 production."

All are still for sale by BMW. There were no availability issues back then, or 11 years later. In fact, I bet if you could find the original window sticker, it would list either your missing Contour or DS2 rims.

There are 12 USA M3 convertible owners in the Registry (shown here) (http://www.bmwmregistry.com/models.php?id=7) with cars made during the same month or later as this model was made until 08/1999. NONE are shown with the wheels yours has.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, I just hate seeing grossly inaccurate information like that.
