Hello all,

I have a problem with my Car Phone - Siemens BIT II phone (Euro)
It is the wireless version and since I bought the car I cant make it to work.
I have the original big SIM "cradle" card, tried a few GSM operator sims, but no luck at all. I was told there might be another slot for a SIM in the trunk/boot? But cant see it.

Any advise would be highly appreciated.

PS. Edwin - if I'm not mistaking you have this phone - pls help out bro.

Thank you

It's not the sim the display states it can't find the base station.

See if it has power, it also looks like your phone is not being charged.

Yes I found that "Suche Basis" translates into "Searching for Base" .
I removed the AA rechagable 2200mAh batteries that the car came with and put some that I had for a short while - 2300mAh. As it is VERY hard to open and close the phone's battery slot - I didnot play with it alot.

Is there a slot in the trunk for additional SIM card?

How do I change the damn menu from German to English - what submenu I need to go???

Again first you need it to connect to the base it has nothing to do with the sim card.

Behind the TV module is the phone module and there you can but the card in.

HI All

I had the same problem as mentioned, I have the 2003 e65 model and was frustrated beyond believe. My version takes the normal cell sim card (GSM) and goes into a neat slot next to the portable. I'm new to the e65 and was playing around in the menu (settings) where I found my solution and now my phone is working like a charm.

Key was in ignition and went to settings menu and there is a little car on the menu. Went into the sub-menu an there I found (Telephone Base on/off) - as stated I really stumbled on that so I hope that I can help someone out there that hated the handheld phone. At least now a passenger can have a semi-private conversation!

It looks like that card goes in the slot under the phone itself (base) my UK car was the same, and it worked when i put a GSM SIM in it (i have the wired TANDEM phones that i was told never worked, once i replaced the fuse and put a sim in, they worked fine).
