Hello everybody!
I save from the crusher a 2000 740i with several issues. Engine seems to work OK, A/C is great, Tranny works.
While I wait to get my Bentley manual, I would like to know..
1- my info cluster has only a few pixels working, as well as my radio. Is worth to clean the connector? if so, how?
2-my rear left door is locked and cannot be open, any option to destroy the panel to access the electric lock?
3-any recommendations before replacing the rear shocks? I have the non electric ones...
Sorry for all these questions but the weekend is near and I ache to work in my new babe..
thank you

Welcome to the forums, if that's your only issues seems like you saved a good car from the crusher!

Welcome to the forum.
If you are thinking to fix the pixels by yourself, please let me tell you that taking the needles out of the instrument shafts it's a very complicated task that enden in almost the complete destruction of the gauge when I tried. I recommend you to ask for professional help.

Regards

Pedro

Welcome to the club! :wave

As some one else said is sounds like you saved a very good condition car, many people get ones with many more problems, and they weren't even going to the crusher.

As for the door not unlocking, try pulling the interior twice to see if it opens the door. Pulling it the first time should unlock it and the second time should open it. Hopefully the child safety lock is not on.
