I have DCI and when i floor it when N or P I can only hear the engine? Are turbos not supposed to spool in Neutral? I saw videos on intakes and I can hear them? I have AT by the way.

eh ... ok

Turbo's use a build up of gas in order to spool up; when you're 'reving' in neutral or park, they won't have sufficient time to spool up in a manner that would allow you to hear them.

I was wondering how BMS got that whoosh sound in their youtube DCI vids lol.

I assume what you heard was probably a recirc valve venting back through the intake.

revving an engine in neutral with no load on it is bad anyway...

You'll hear it if you actually accelerate. There's not backpressure from the drivetrain so the engine isn't really "working". They're spooling but nowhere near as fast.

Listen between 2-4k rpms, you'll hear it.

I remember people burning out their clutch packs in E32's and E34's by revving in neutral.

Nothing $4k couldn't fix, mind you.

I'm sure modern cars don't have that problem. But I bet the owners of those cars were sure surprised.

Funny thing... even under heavy throttle while driving, I still don't really ever hear the turbos like I do in other turbo cars...
