What the heck is a valvetronic motor? Sorry, my last BMW was from 1995.

Valvetronic is variable lift of the valves, replacing the throttle butterfly.
This increases efficiency by removing the restriction of the throttle.

That is distinct from VANOS, which is valve timing for opening/closing the valves.

the car has 80000 miles on it and the motor was under $300
