Tire Size for 17" Rims on 530iT

I'm thinking of going for a slightly taller and hopefully more comfortable tire on my 530iT which is running on a set of 17" rims from an '01 530.

What do you all run with satisfying results? You can chime in about preferred make and model too if you like.

My touring has 245/45/17 on it currently. Slightly taller than stock size. No rubbing and actually makes the speedometer more accurate.

Yup, same setup here until recently, for the same reasons. Now I'm running 245/40 and wanting to go back. Next tire set might be an additional size up - 235/50, perhaps.
