Hey guys, well i just want to put this out there because i was absolutely amazed by a local shop here that deserves special recognition. the shop is called R & N Bavarian Motors and they are absolutely amazing when it comes to customer service and BMW knowledge. also i just want to make it clear that i am in no way affiliated with them and that i just want to give recognition to a great place.

basically had some coolant issues and they were more than happy to help me out and squeeze me in even though they are overbooked for this week. they took really good care of me and they gave me a full inspection of my ride when they were done. they also pointed out everything they saw wrong with it instead of just writing it down on paper and giving me an invoice.

also at $90/hour, they are almost half the cost of the local dealers for the dealer service and experience.

i was absolutely amazed at the service and courteousy shown.

This shop was posted earlier for Chi-Town folks. I talked to the guy before and mention his shop was recommended and a few BMW owners will show up. Glad things worked out for you, I thought the owner was a stand up type of guy. There's a place called Beverly Garage on 9500 S. Hoyne DON'T GO THERE! The shop owner Pete tried to hold my car hostage for $45.00. I had to call CPD just so he would release my car. I just wanted him to give a price for labor on my PS Hose. The guy would not look at it until it was on the rack. He told me what I already told him. Then he said $45.00 I owe to him. Pete NEVER mention to me a price until he was done. Long story after that.

There is another shop called Advance Automotive Care 9018 West Ogden Ave. Brookfeild, Il 60513 708/485-0484 the shop owner Don Yario is good also, but his labor rate is $100.00/ hr. He will also let you supply your own parts also.

I cannot say enough about a great independant repair shop as the both of you have typed in. They make life with a BMW much easier.

Yes a good indie is envalueable. I had a place I've used for years with my other cars. but since I've purchased my 38 they have been wrong on their diagnosis of my shimmy:(, 3 times. needless to say there is nothing worse then paying someone to GUESS what is wrong. I could have done that myself. I've been doing all my own work since(thx to you guys), but I am still on the look out for a good indie..:shifty

Then again I love working on the 38:buttrock
