This is all the way up on the GC setup of mine. Let's just say I cut out more than the recommended 1".

See you there!

Anybody know of a company that makes e34 steel oil pans?
I don't want to have to shell out some dumb amount for a custom one, but driving like this is kind of scary with the lowest point of my car being made of aluminium.

Jesus that's low
But not quite. The goal was the oil pan 1" off with a 1/4" skid plate. Still have to knock it down a few turns and get some more welding done.

Good dang! I just put in GCs with unshortened housings, and the lowest ride height on the front is about the same as the H&Rs I had on before. Are yours using the custom valved Konis?

Coming off the Palisades entering Anthony Wayne there is a diesel dip in the road. Your oil pan has no chance. Not to mention the Palisades isn't in the best condition....

Sounds like he shortened the housings > 1"

Sounds like he shortened the housings > 1"No doubt. But I wonder if that's like another inch on top of the requisite shortening.

I agree with these sentiments. I think everyone should read this:

About 1/3 of the way down starts the pertinent info for this thread. My biggest concern with the OP's proposed setup is that even with the 1/4" steel skidplate, what happens if you hit a big enough bump (lol) mid-corner and it causes one or both of the front wheels to lose grip? Kinda like those bagged pickup's that drop the bag's and run on their skid plates to throw sparks? They're fun to watch crash when it happens around a corner when they bumped the switch on accident...:stickoutt.

See his avatar? He's that guy. I really, *REALLY* hope the vw trends never make it to e34s, that's probably the day I'd walk away from here and never look back.

Anyone willing to be that stupid for "stance" deserves to BP the entrance to anthony wayne.

OP, I can understand why you wouldn't want to fix your oil leaks if you're just planning on cracking your pan anyway.

Much expected these comments from the e34 community :D
Why would I do anything to my vehicle beyond stock, maybe because I have bad taste? It's not like I built it for time attack or anything, or like I ever even exceed 55mph. It's a fun around town car that I enjoy.
And I am NOT a VW guy. I specificaly built that shitty rabbit to make fun of all the MK1 guys. I have spent more money on a single bottle of whisky than that turd mobile.

Maybe because I saw pics of how you did it?
