Reading codes 95 E38

Hey I turned the ignition on and hit the gas 5 times within 5 seconds. The check engine lamp went off the on for 1 second. then flashed 1 time followed by another 1 second flash, then repeated the quick 1 flash followed by the 1 second long flash. Is this code just a 1 and if it is what's the deal. I thought they were supposed to be 4 digit codes in these vehicles. I have a 95 740iL with the 4.0L V-8.

I saw the video and did the test correctly. As started before I am getting the same result. 1 short flash and then a long one. The car cranks but does not start. It just shut off on me a few weeks back. Maybe I have a bad computer or something..

Crank sensor? CPS sensor?

Crank sensor was bad. put a Bosch one in today and she fired right up!! thanks

Seems to be a lot of crank sensor failing lately. That sucks as it leaves you stranded. Failed cam sensors still let you drive home.
