This car just needs the right owner :( Previous owner and myself picked it up thinking "heres a cheap M3 i can restore and have fun with" but other things come up and take priority.

I spent the day looking at a 2010 Honda Accord Sedan EX. =( I cant believe I let go of my Z4 and my M3 for an Accord. Sucks being a grown up now.

Don't knock a Honda, they are a HUGE step up from a boring Camry. See if you can find a 2007 6 speed sedan. Lots of go with the V6, slick shifting 6 speed and lots of room for the kiddies. The previous generation is a lot more sporting than the bloated current model.

The 2003-2007 4 bangers with the 5 speed are pretty fun to drive as well. Silky smooth engine with continuously variable valve timing, great shifter and quick and responsive steering also get MUCH better gas mileage on the highway, burns regular gas and will only need a set of tires every 50k miles. You should be able to pick one up with reasonable miles for about $10k.

Honestly, for driving around town I'd rather be in one of those than my M3 sedan. Much lower cost of ownership, much nicer interiors, you can drive the 4 bangers to 10/10's on the street without going to jail, and also have modern safety features (2005+ have standard side airbags all over the place).

You only notice the performance of the M3 when you are driving in a manner that is best left for track events.... :devillook

That's good advice man, I'll keep it into consideration.

I just need this bad boy to sell (cant believe my Z4 is gone) and I can make a move on the family car. Thought about Subaru Legacy & Mazda 6 as well. But I'm mostly hooked on the Accord.

Those are all great choices, can't beat Japanese cars for a good combination of practicality and a decent fun factor.

GLWS, I'd throw your M3 back up on Craigslist. Ebay Classifieds are free for your first auto listing as well. This would be a great track car candidate for somebody, I'm surprised it's still for sale.

I keep imagining myself stripping out the interior and removing the AC components, building up the suspension and adding a few bolt-on's for power... call it a day. And I could still keep it... but the smart side of my brain tells me to sell.

I had two car payments... I eliminated one yesterday... so if I can sell this M3, clear out that loan, I get to start over from square one on a new car.

Added link to video of the car autocrossing in May 2010.

$600 to get it here from FL

Spent $1,000 on:
New tires all around
02 sensor
Air filter
Oil change
Alignment

I have receipts for all.

Like I said, I'm just trying to recoup.

if you get a newer legacy you will have a turbo charged family beast. not only that, the all wheel drive will keep everyone safe in the winter. My boy has one and i love the car. for over all value i would go with the legacy but accords are great also.

Is the car still available? Cause I'm in the market for a DD/Auto-X kinda car and this looks like it'll fit the bill very nicely.

I know =(

But the only Legacy that comes with turbo is the 2.5GT and I think that takes me closer to 30k. I want to stay closer to $20k.

Ask as much as you can think of. I like for folks to be as informed as possible so there's no surprises when you come see it.

I really need this car gone. Bank wont fund my new car purchase unless I pay this off. $4,500 still stands firm but I need this gone.

UPDATE 8/13/10 @ 2:40 PM: Well... the bank allowed me to buy the Honda without selling the M3. I am no longer in a rush and the car is still for sale. :D

Hi, two questions;

(1) how much it will cost to fix the AC

(2) will you be interested to take a 2001 saab 9-3 sedan plus a couple hundred bucks? then you don't even need to take the Honda loan.

I am in Maryland
