My 2007 335i has xeon adaptive headlights.
When I have the lights on at night, the outer lamps are on -- so far so good. (I love these bright white lights)
When I turn on the high beam the inner lamps stay off, with just that circle light around them. The outer lamps -- the low beams -- get brighter.
Are the inside lamps supposed to be turning on with the high beam dash light on?
Thanks

No, high beam on the bi-xenon lights just moves a mirror that exposes more of the reflector to the bulb/capsule. The inner light is used only for "flashing" when the turn signal stalk is pulled back, and for the corner illumination.

Hey good info. I always wondered how cars with full xeons flashed. I assume those other ones are halogen then?

Yes, an H1 I think (never having had to replace one.) I know that, on my '01 330xi with Xenon (not bi-xenon), the high beam was halogen and that's what flashed.

Ok makes sense.
I upgraded to xeons in my E36 but my high beams are still Halogen H1's for that very reason.
Flashing with xeons wouldn't be especially effective.
