Hello, It's time for me to part ways with my beloved e36. It's at 185k, 5spd, and has been one of the most mechanically reliable cars I have ever owned. It has had it's fair share of BMW electrical quirks, and I'm sure there are more as to be expected from a 14 year old car. I am selling because the wife wants an MDX or Pilot. So if anyone has either they are looking to get rid of, I'd pay cash on top...
It has a manual top, no leaks, and top is in fairly good condition. It has the flappy dogears that plague e36 convertibles, but I just tuck those in. I bought the car at 155k, and at that time it had a new clutch, new radiator, new water pump, new head gasket, and alternator pulley belt.
I have since replaced:
spark plugs
wires
alternator
valve cover gasket
oil filter housing gasket
new rear calipers
headlights (has apexcones with 5000k HID)
PVC valve
It needs (and I have these parts for the new owner, just don't have time to work on it anymore):
LCABs
RTABs
Front lip (to hide crack in middle lower of the front bumper)
fogs (I have the original one side, but the other did not come with the car and I did not like the missing fog light look so I took the other one out)
"All-window" button (button does not work, but I have a new one from a 99 328ic)
It also needs (parts which I do not have to offer):
Windshield wiper fluid motor (25 bucks on ebay)
front tires (which I'll probably replace in the near future anyway)
Wheels (IMO)
Lower ball joints (it's about due, 80 bucks)
IAT sensor (25 bucks on ebay)
It has e46 m3 replica rims, and these aren't the best IMO. They came with the car and were curbed when I got them, and I haven't bothered to change them because this was my daily driver for the past year. I always meant to mod it, but we had our second boy, and kids are not cheap! I also recharge the AC every summer, so it'll probably be due again next May. I would say it's in fair condition. It needs a bit of TLC, but is is ready to go and has been fun as he11 since the day I got it!
I get about 420-425 miles/tank, and as a reliable, fuel-efficient, affordable, four-seat convertible, it's been one of the best cars I have ever owned. Pics to come, as it's the same car in my avatar. I am asking $3300 OBO, local pickup preferred. If you are local, you can take it for a test run. Email ungfamily@verizon.net for questions and pics (unless someone can help me upload them here).
