my girlfriends E46 (2003 325i) has been rattling at idle for a little while.. and i always figured it was just a heat shield, so i took a look under it the other day, and the muffler is beat up pretty bad, and that's what is rattling.. so basically, it needs a new one.

i'm going to be selling the car pretty soon, and it's completely stock, so i don't want to put a ridiculous muffler on the thing... but i can't really find a good, not too expensive OEM muffler. are there any aftermarket mufflers that aren't really loud, and sound relatively stock?

either that.. or if anyone knows where i can get a new OEM muffler for a decent price, that works too. i found a few on Ebay but i'd rather buy a new one.

thanks!

I have an OEM muffler from my 325CI that works fine somewhere in my garage. I'd give it to you for $20. I'm located in Orange County though, and I'm not sure how it would fit a sedan.

sold!!!

it'm pretty sure it's the same muffler for a sedan.. either way, it'll work for me.

actually, i'll probably be in orange county tomorrow, so if you're serious... then i'll definately stop by and pick it up!

as in employee parts program?

yea... we have that, but it's still about $400... i really don't feel like spending that much, $20 sounds much better to me!

If your looking for quality and as close to stock sounds as possible I would urge you to consider the UUC Twin Silencer Exhaust.

UUC has partnered with Corsa for this project, UUC utilized patented “RSC” Reflective Sound Cancellation technology to build a drone free performance exhaust. Made of 100% polished stainless steel it looks as good as it performs.

They guarantee absolutely no cabin drone!
