I have 4x Style 42 wheels came off of an E39 (17")

They have almost new 235/45/17 tires on them.

Want to use on my 97 Z3 1.9L.

I know the bores are different on E36's, therefore I need hub-centric rings. Will buy them.

How about the tires? People are always talking about using 215 tires so it won't rub. That means, the 235/45 tires on the wheels already, will rub?

I don't have rolled fenders or any fancy stuff. Just a stock Z3. I would love to put them on without issues.

What do you think?

The offset on the e39 wheels are +20mm. Z3 offset is ~+46 mm or so?
IF so, then the e39 wheel's going to poke out about 1".

Well, That will make it look "fat". I'm cool with that.

As long as it won't rub, I will install them. Can't tell without buying the hub centrics and install them right?

Replied in your thread in the Z3 section. They'll fit.

Also, you don't need to have hub-centric rings installed for a test fit. Just don't drive anywhere without them.

Kyle,

Thank you very much for your reply. It really worked a lot.

I think I won't keep the wheels as they're "too much rubber".

Now looking at BBS LM replicas from raderwerks.com. This one:

I will lower the car on Eibach springs. Then buy these wheels in:

18X8J, 5x120 bolt, 35ET offset.

Which size tire would be good, considering the drop with Eibachs?
