I took my 2001 325I to the dealer today for some minor warranty work and the salesman told me that my service coverage will run out in three days. He quoted me $525.00 to extend the service coverage for another year. My car reads 13,500 for inspection I, chances are that I wont reach the mileage this year and therefore wont use the service coverage. The salesman told me that in brakes alone, I will save money. How true is this and how much is the brake service. So what do you guys think I should do? I just bought the car one week ago and I'm not sure what to do. Thanks.

what's your car's in-service date? For 2001 models, it had 3 year/36k miles maintenance warranty and 4 years/50k miles bumper-bumper warranty.
Brakes will cost you prolly $500 if you take it to them, if you buy the rotors/pads yourself and do it, it'll prolly be around a couple hundred.

Are brakes and/or clutches covered under the service warrenty? How many more miles do you get in that year if you extend it?

This is the actual deal:
Don’t Pay Too Soon!!!
Did you know that the full maintenance program on your BMW
can be extended from 36,000 to 50,000 miles?
Average maintenance cost incurred between 36,000 and 50,000 is approx $1250.00
Protect yourself and extend your coverage for pennies on the dollar.
Covers:
Adjustments Belts
Wipers Filters
Scheduled Maint Hoses
Brakes Batteries
6 cylinder
$495.00

yeah, i guess it's worth to get it for only 500 bux, i'd say go for it, just make sure it's a definite extension of your current 3 year/36k mile maintenance warranty
