X5 Owners, what's the best ipod/mp3 set-up for our cars?

Dad has a 05' x5 and he wants to set up a ipod integration system in his car and I was wondering what is the most common set-up and the most user friendly setup?

Thanks, seems like most of the threads there relate with dice problems. lol. Which is reasonable since I have it on my 330xi and I've been less than satisfied with it.
