Air conditioner and a/c panel not working at all

ihave a 2001 bmw 330ci - and while getting of the freeway, i notice hearing some knocking type noises. Maybe 4 or 5 knocks. Then my a/c turns off. Now nothing happens when I hit any of the buttons. My heater, a/c, nor defrosters work. Fuses seem to be ok. Any suggestions?

IIRC the fuse that controls the e-box fan also contools the IHKA panel, if that fuse goes you need to check your e-box fan youdon't want the DME and EGS to get too warm. Mightbe fuse 23 or 27.
