So this is my story. I bought this 07 BMW 328i with a minor accidental damage at the back. It started at the auction and I transported it to a body shop on a trolley. Well, I think someone left a light on or something so yesterday we realized the car battery was flat dead. Got a battery and replaced it but now the car won't start. All the lights come on but it won't even crank. I just hear two clicks. I have stepped on the brake pedal all the way down when starting but it has not helped. I am not sure if it has anything to do with the battery or I need to unlock or reset something. As I said, I am not the original owner so if there are any codes I need to enter I won't know. Any ideas?

If you get a brand new battery you have to have the car reprogrammed at the dealer.

Are you saying that my car won't start because the battery is not registered? So I have to tow the car to the dealership just to get the battery replaced? I dread going to the dealership.

Sounds to me;

1. new battery is dead or

2. poor battery terminal/cable connection.

A fresh fully charged good terminal connection battery should crank the engine...

Trying jumping it, but if that dosent work off to the dealer you go, they say when you install a new battery you have to put the car through a battery intro process.
