Hi all,

I have a couple of questions about valve job. I wondered how big of a difference will the valve job do to the engine? will a good valve job give a significent gain in power? I have got my 3-angle valve job done by one machine shop, but recently, I have took to another machine shop for check up on the compression ratio. The machine shop told me that they can do a much better valve job, many angle valve seat, and polish the valve wall. Thanks

if the valve is not leaking the issue is not important since no one would get a valve job to change from 3 angle to 5 angle.

The multi angle grinds are to provide longivity to valve sealing and some increase in flow. Usually the flow increase is not measurable.

On the porting, polishing, most tuners find the need to introduce turbulance with swirl porting to be the real deal.

Rougher and not smoother is the better deal.

Here is my Metric Mechanic swirl ported head for an m30 turbo.

Concerning about increasing in flow, are there a big difference between an already done valve job and a more refine valve job? Thanks god that my valve tunel is rough, at least the shop did something right. Any other thing i can add up to the engine to make it run smoother and more powerful? Thanks

If I was starting off with a clean slate this would be on my list.

NO2 ZEX Nitrous Oxide System $599.95

Bavarian Autosport is proud to introduce the world's first " Smart " Nitrous Oxide System. Using actual bottle pressure to regulate the nitrous to fuel ratio ensures that the mix is always optimized. Never too rich, never too lean! All the major components of our tailor-made kit are contained in the Patented Nitrous Management Unit, which means no unsightly solenoids or wiring cluttering up your engine compartment. This "Dry" system uses the engine's fuel injection system to provide the extra fuel only when the system is activated at wide open throttle. This improves reliability and greatly simplifies installation as no additional fuel lines have to be run. The kit includes 10lb nitrous bottle, Nitrous Management Unit, Jets for 55 hp, 65 hp or 75 hp boost, Nitrous hose, and all required brackets and hardware. Nitrous Oxide sold separately (to be purchased / filled locally).
