I am still recovering from jet lag, but I've been in Ireland for the past week or so. While tearing around the narrow roads in my rented Fiat, I had my first encounters with the new 5 in action. The experience almost made me want to cry.
I had seen the car on the lot near my house. My girl and I pass them on the way home from restaurants (we like to walk) and have inspected them close up on several occasions. But this time the car was in motion.
The thing is, as it approach I thought it was a Honda. I'm dead serious. I'm not saying it kinda looked like a Honda. The car came around a bend and my brain said Honda Accord. Just like when you see one of those little feathered animals flying and you just know its a bird.
I know the topic of the 5er's aesthetic has been discussed, but I am SO disappointed that I had to type this one up. BMW has been a defining force in the auto industry. How many Bimmer wannabes are out there? Its sad to see the shoe on the other foot.
