I'm in need of new tires and can't really make sense of all the info between consumer reports and tire rack scores/reviews; just a bunch of contradictions.

I have 235/50/18's and I'm looking for a performance all season. I don't want Pirelli's based on everything I've seen. Can anyone provide pros/cons about Continental ContiProContact [H] or recommend a decent treadlife that handles well in most conditions including light snow/ice? I want a smooth ride vs a sport feel.

I'm in the same boat, but with 17". The OEM Pirellis are at the wear bars having gone 45k. I'm discinclined to get Continentals, since the rears of a new set Cont ProContacts wore out in 8 months @15k on my daughters '02 525i, and Continental would not honor the warranty because I hadn't rotated the tires every 5-7k :mad (its now in their warranty...and yes, the alignment was checked when they were first put on and then again when they were replaced).

I'm thinking about the Michelin PS2 A/S. Anyone had any experience with them on their X3?

I do carry the Conti and they are used as original equipment but they are better tires out there. They are priced right at 150.00 per tire and they are an all season tire with good ride quality. They are only OK handling and OK in the snow.

The best that I would have is the Bridgestone Turanza Serinity at 212.00 each and a 70.00 mail in rebate. They are a 45K mileage tire and have AA traciton in the wet. The other option would be a new tire from Yokohama called the Avid Envigor at 155.00 each and a 45K mileage warranty. They are not quite as good in the wet as the Turanza but better than the Conti.

If I can help let me know.
