Hello my name is Yadiel. I am new to the forum. I am getting a 335i 2007 in the next couple of weeks. I'd never had a bimmer before, and I was wondering how BMW warranties work. I was looking into the VR400 kit from vividracing. Will that kit void the warranty? I would take the JB3 off before taking it to the dealership of course, but will the BMW techs have issues with the aftermarket turbo back exhaust, intake, and BOV?

The 335i is one car I would hate to own out of warranty.

Magnusson-Moss warranty act states that the dealer has to prove the modifications were to blame for whatever failure you want to have warrantied but that doesn't mean the headache of getting it accomplished will be worth it.
If you add 20% to your vehicle's power and the tranny gives up, it's pretty much on you. Gotta pay to play.
It is typically a huge headache to get something modded warrantied unless you are friendly with the tech and service manager at your dealership.
Unless you're in really good with your service advisor, figure ANY power mod you have basically invalidating your powertrain warranty if an issue pops up. It's just too easy for them to point the finger at some mod as the problem, even if it's obvious it's not. The burden is then on YOU to prove it's not, and since they've got the final say, that basically means taking them to court. Not worth it for a few hundred bucks of repair work in most cases.
That's not how the law is written, but that's reality. Mod an in warranty car at your own risk, and be prepared to have ANY failures come on your dime.
As was already said, gotta pay to play.
