So my touring door panels were typical E34 pulling off so bad you could not put your arm on the arm rest... So Sunday I decided I would fix them while I patiently awaited parts to arrive.. Project got out of hand at that point. needless to say the entire cars insides are out and the roof rack rails are off now... Doing a new headliner too. Black...

Back to the fix....

Tried pulling the fake dead cow off to reglue it.. FAIL... I had to try..

At this point the panels are junk... right... NOT!

So! I look around the shop and find a can of Duplicolor truck bed liner, yes I did..

I half assed cleaned the panels off expecting it to look like crap and started hosing on the bedliner, I taped off the top cap since it was still in dead cow and looked nice..

Well I'll be damed... It actually looked not only half ass but looked somewhat decent... Then I put the rear door card back on and the door pull, and it looked even better..

SO I took the parts back off. Then used my top secret BMW matching flat black spray paint (it matches the factory BMW black plastic almost perfect) Not really secret its the 97cent flat black at home depot..

painted the door panels all flat black. then put the card and parts back on.

i also pulled off the little chrome door toppers off and painted them all flat black like in the M cars.

I just put the rears back on on the car it looks pretty decent. FAR better thanthe pulling apart poofy panels...

Ill post a picture of the rears on the car tomorrow..

In retrospect if I had prepped the panels better and sanded them smooth in spots it would look fantastic...

There ya have it how to make your door panels look better with truck bedliner spray....

I think sprayed from a bedliner gunnot a can the texture might be even better.

Very interested in seeing some more pics of this. I have a few trashed panels I might want to test on.

Yup and it matches BMW black for the interior perfect. I tried about ten diffrent blacks when I was redoing a 330i inside to black from gray...

The panels turned out remarkably good. I put them on the car and on the car they look great.

If you took a little more time than I did :D to prep them they woudl look even better. I literally just hosed them down. I think if I do another set I will get some high build primer and prime them and sand them all smooth.

I'm going to have to get my friend to take some decent pictures I suck witht eh camerra. All the pictures I took of the panels on the car turned out horrid:shifty
